The amount of knowledge I have about Italian pottery amounts to: zilch. I have not got a clue! Whereas with West German pots I’m beginning to build up a bank of knowledge about their origins, era and types, with the Italian stuff I couldn’t tell you who, what, where or when about any of it. Never mind – I’ve got some pretty pictures of pottery in our abode, and whoever minds looking at that?
I love these things, but I really wish I knew more about them. Because there are no obvious marks or names, it’s difficult to find out. Bitossi is fairly famous, and there are many amazing items for sale on the Luna website (for sale in the UK) and Ebay. Definitely work a look if you like the look of the penguin!
Speaking of Ebay: I’ve just put a bit in for this Italian pin dish I’ve been watching. The sale ends tomorrow, so hopefully I shall be lucky and win it! Fingers crossed.
