West German Pottery Wall Hangings

I can’t believe that with all the gorgeous wall hangings we have, I’ve not posted any of them up before now. They’re stunning! The pair above we found in two separate places on the last German road trip (two weeks tomorrow ’til the next one!). For once, I actually spotted both. They’re two of our favourite items. We just need somewhere to put them up.

We already have this one up in the kitchen:

And quite a few more stashed away in drawers:

Despite West German vases being fairly retro-stylish to begin with, there’s something extra specially vintage about wall hangings. I think it’s because people just don’t really have anything other than pictures and mirrors on their walls nowadays. So boring!

We’ve also got a lovely Ceramano three-circles one in oranges and red. However, I seem to be incapable of taking any decent pictures of it tonight!

Oh – they’re absolutely stunning!! I don’t think I’ve seen those before. I love the one you have hanging in the kitchen. I like wall hangings too. I’m finding myself drawn to macrame at the moment.

Keep your eyes out, they’re fairly rare (I think) but well worth a find. We’ve had a couple of macrame owls in the past; they seem to be popular in Germany as well!
