Metropolis – Fritz Lang

We’ve been watching this recently:

Not being the most knowledgeable people about films, we had no idea that Fritz Lang was such a well-known and influential director. We’ve just been enjoying looking at the sets, costumes and crazy stage makeup.  Also, this is the version with Giorgio Moroder’s ’80s soundtrack: so retro, in so many ways.  If you want to watch it on Youtube, the other parts are on the right hand side. Unfortunately, part 6 appears to be missing.

Some amazing artwork and posters from the film:

I am also going to wear this for next Halloween:

As long as you don’t make it “Sexy Robot Lady” (I can’t remember her name) that would win any costume contest I can think of.

P.S. I was just thinking about this film recently!

Well originally, I did say that I wanted to wear that costume… not sure if I’d dare go out in it though! I genuinely didn’t realise how famous it was; but I’m not really up on my films so it’s not surprising really!
